In December, Backstage introduced a focused set of updates that improve how you manage registrations, communicate with attendees, and track participation. These enhancements are designed to give organizers greater flexibility and clearer control across the entire event lifecycle.
Coexistence of RSVP and Open Registrations
We're pleased to announce a major advancement in our registration logic—the coexistence of RSVP with Open Registrations. Previously, the RSVP feature was restricted to invite-only events i.e. closed events, limiting organizers to a single registration path. This update introduces a hybrid model, allowing you to send personalized RSVP invitations to specific guests while simultaneously keeping your website open for public registration.
Under the new Registrations > Setup > RSVP configuration, organizers can now toggle between Invite-Only and Open Registrations. In the Open Registrations mode, visitors can register via the website using standard tickets and promo codes, while your invited VIPs continue to enjoy a personalized response experience.
A core benefit of this enhancement is intelligent status synchronization. The system now automatically updates an invited guest’s status to Attending if they're captured through alternative channels. This includes public website registrations, attendee imports, waitlist releases, or even on-site check-ins.
This flexibility extends throughout the event lifecycle; organizers can switch between the two modes at any time to adapt to changing registration demands. By bridging the gap between exclusive hospitality and broad market reach, this update ensures a seamless, unified data flow for every attendee type.

The WhatsApp Credit Estimator

Rich media support for Announcements
Bring your announcements to life! Organizers can now include inline images and file attachments (up to 10MB) within event communications. Using the new rich text editor, you can highlight sponsors or share important documents. Attendees can preview and download these files directly from your event website for seamless engagement.

Advanced attendance reporting and exports
Access deeper insights with streamlined exports for events, sessions, and zone check-ins. Choose from three formats—Full Log, Event-Level, or Daily Attendance—to track attendees, speakers, and sponsors with precision. This enhancement simplifies post-event reporting, providing the exact data you need to measure engagement across every part of your event.

Event cancellation by event organizers
Event Owners can now delegate cancellation authority to trusted team members. By cloning the Event Owner role, you can grant this privilege to specific organizers. This enhancement provides greater operational flexibility, ensuring your team can manage event lifecycles effectively without relying solely on a single owner.
