Why does my macro button disappear?

I've created a macro button, and have it sitting over row 3.  But it disappears when I freeze rows 1-5.

The only solution I've found is to put my button below the frozen rows, but I don't like the way that looks.  This will be a shared file and I'd like this button to be above the input area.  And I want to have frozen rows so column titles are always visible, no matter how large the file gets.

Is there a way to keep the button visible when it's in the frozen row area?
