Zoho Projects vs Custom CRM Module

Hello,

We are looking to refine our implementation process and are open to feedback on if we should utilize Zoho projects or build a custom module within the CRM. Our desired end results are to have a system that is not only fully reportable and can assign tasks and responsibilities across the organization with designated SLAs, but also helps drive the process.

We have utilized Blueprint and workflows within the CRM to drive and manage our sales process and thought it may be similar to implementations of new clients. We have also dabbled in Zoho projects to utilize the PM software to help organize the implementation process and internal stakeholders but seem to fall short on overall reportability. 

Has anyone faced a similar situation and found a solution that works best for them?
