Can't edit record in embedded view

I have an embedded view on my website with editing capabilities allowed. However, when I click on the pencil icon next to a record, change data in a field, and then click "Update" the view only shows the animated loading icon (see attached image), but does not update the record.

I am however able to update the record if I log into my zoho creator account so I think the problem is just with the embedded view.
