Check boxes for user search feature

I would like to use creator to construct a database of family recipes. I would like to include checkboxes for main ingredients (beans, cheese, chicken, carrots etc) for entry creation (this is already possible) and then have the same checkboxes availbable for user search of the database (this doesn't seem to be possible currently). This way, someone could search the database for recipes using key ingredients they have on hand. It seems the best that can be done with the current search is to query for a single ingredient at a time, such as "beans," while it is not possible to search for "beans and cheese." The only way I could figure out how to do this was to create a filter in edit mode. Any suggestions?
