Create customised views in Creator 5

Create customised views in Creator 5

Hi guys, I’ve been using Creator for 7 years and one of my main applications is still in a very old version of Creator. This works perfectly for me because I have a number of users that work across departments and I can share customised views of relevant data with them very easily.

Each of my users can work in more than one department and therefore need to be able to see all the data relevant to them.

Example:

  1. Tom works in Department 1, Department 2 and Department 3.
  1. Sarah works in Department 1 and Department 2.
  1. Mark works in Department 1.

I create a customised view with relevant criteria for that person.

E.g for Sarah: department == Department1 || department == Department2

Sarah can now see all the data for Department 1 & 2. This includes data she has added and data added by Mark (Department 1) and Tom (Department 1 & 2).

My account does get a bit cluttered with different views shared with different people but it’s the way I’ve being doing it. Now I’ve built a different application in Creator 5 and I’m having difficulty replicating this idea of customised views for different people. It gets complicated because I have 12 users and 15 departments and they can be working in as many as all 12 or as few as 1. Basically, each user will need their own customised view based on the department(s) in which they work. They should be able to see all data for that department regardless of who entered it. With Creator 5, I only get 5 permission sets on my basic plan so I can’t go around customising and sharing a load of different views like I did in the past.

In short, what is the simplest way that I can achieve this? I’m sure I’m missing something really obvious but there must be a way to assign someone to department(s) and then let all those people in those department(s) see the data.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance
