Feature updates and bug fixes

Greetings to Zoho Creator Users.

We are pleased to announce the latest set of feature updates and bug fixes. We now have the complete support for Firefox 3.5. The latest update includes one of the important requirements to import data from a file. The users hereafter need not copy and paste the data into the text area that is provided, but specify the file containing the data instead. The specified feature supports the .csv, .xls and .tsv formats. While this is an enhancement, the feature to copy-and-paste data still exists.

Another update is the provision to obtain the backup file. You can now obtain a copy of the backup file after their application is backed-up. The backup will include the deluge script file and a set of .csv files containing their data. However, please note that the backup will not contain the files that were uploaded using the file upload field.

There are some interesting feature updates related to the product API. The API now features great flexibility in obtaining a list of applications/forms/views. While the existing API has a restriction in obtaining the list, in that it gets you all the forms/views in an application or obtaining all the applications in a user account, the new feature updates lets you do the following

  1. Obtain a list of forms/views separately. That means, you can obtain a list of only the forms or only the views in a specific application.
  2. Filter and obtain a subset of applications/forms/views.
On the issue-fix front, we have got the cyclic-dependency problem, during .ds file import, fixed. Now you can import scripts having one lookup field of each form, in a pair of forms, linking to a field in the other form of the pair cyclically. This fix also allows you to backup-restore such applications.

The update includes other fixes like the provision to specify default value for a checkbox through URL and access restriction implementation for form-edit.

The full list of enhancements/fixes with details are present here. We will be extremely happy to hear from you.

Thanks and Regards,
Hari Shankar
