Field Width

Greetings and thanks again for a great product...

I get how to control the field width in an embedded form for posting on a website for example,

But how do I control the display field width for forms in the original app (that is where we do all of our data entry.) For example I have a lookup field but when I click on the dropdown, it cuts off some of the available choices so I can't see what I am selecting. The original field width in the original form is fine (50 char) but how do control the DISPLAY field width on the drop down? Or perhaps, can I change the default display width for all the fields in the form or app?
