Filter by Month?

Hello,

Thanks for a helpful forum - I have found answers here but am stuck on this one.

I have a date field where the user chooses the date from the calendar (it's to indicate what date they held a teaching session).

I would like to be able to Export entries by the month so I can see what sessions were held each month. I saw a posting about the getMonth function but wasn't sure if I could use that as a Filter or some other way to help me see records for each month.
