formulas

i really have problems in using formulas...
when i choose a field-type... formulas are not shown on pulldown menu as type...
changing the script (according to your formula-help) returns errors as well (such as : A form field of any type cannot be modified to a formula....)
Can you help ??? Or is there a update so Pulldown menue shows formula fields as well ?
