give 'view' pages more functionality

please give 'view' pages more functionality and make them more interactive.

currently a 'view' page displays specific information about the specific records chosen by the user.

the user gets to select the specific information to display on a 'view' page by selecting columns in the 'column display/rearrange' selection box.

however, if the user wants additional information regarding a specific record, the user currently has to either add a column to the page or click on a different tab and then search for that specific record. this is too time consuming.

what I would prefer is the ability to click on any field of any record on a 'view' page and have a pop up window display all the details/fields of that particular record.

so for example, let's say i am looking at my 'contacts' view page. it currently displays the following columns: 'contact', 'supplier', 'email address' and 'work number'. however, if I needed a particular contact's 'cell number' I would have to add that column to the page using the 'column display/rearrange' selection box. it would be much simpler if I could just click on the contact's name and have a window pop up displaying all of the contact's details.

here is another example. let's say i am still looking at my 'contacts' view page. if i needed the billing address of a particular supplier listed on the page, I would have to click over to the 'suppliers' view page and then search for that supplier. it would be much simpler if I could just click on the supplier's name and have a window pop up displaying all of the supplier's details.
