Help for an idiot.

I'm evaluating Zoho Creator to potentially replace another service. So far, I've liked Zoho better,but the other one (formspring.com) has a very easy logic procedure. I am not getting Zoho's at all. I don't want much -- two things, really.
1) To be able to show fields based on user input.
2) to be able to send email to specific addresses based on user input.

Can you direct me to a tutorial that is designed for idiots like me? Something step by step that assumes total ignorance on my part.
