How do I update data in records in another form?

How do I update data in records in another form?

I have several user types and want to create forms specific to their function. I know how to pull the various subsets of information from the "master" form to fill in the function-specific forms based on looking up an ID. Works great. But how do I get updated items back into the right record in the master form?
