How to use zoho javascript EDIT?

How to use zoho javascript EDIT?

How would I go about using the zoho EDIT link in my own custom views?
I am assuming that the js is accessible from any view, but how do I call it? onClick(?)?

I want to reproduce the modal popup edit window displayed when using the EDIT link in zoho static views, in my own html views.
