Is there a way to include data in a hyperlink, so that when the user click on a link, the data keys a form to pre-populate fields?

Example: Imagine a view, where a user can browse items for sale. When he finds an items, the view contains a column, with a link "buy now" that opens a form with fields pre-populated with the sale item.
