Important Update: WhatsApp Marketing Template Message Restrictions for US Numbers

Dear Zoho Forms Users,

We want to keep you informed about an upcoming change in WhatsApp's marketing messaging policy that may impact your communication strategy.

Warning
Starting April 1, 2025, Meta will temporarily pause the delivery of all marketing template messages to users with United States phone numbers (numbers with a +1 dialing code and US area code).

What does this mean for you?

  • This is a restriction that completely blocks message templates that are configured under the MARKETING Template Category from being delivered to US numbers, regardless of message volume or frequency.
  • This change is part of Meta’s ongoing efforts to enhance the consumer experience in the US, ensuring that businesses can engage with their customers more effectively in the long run.
  • Meta has not specified how long this pause will last, so businesses should prepare for any alternative engagement with their customers.
  • Only MARKETING Templates are to be paused. UTILITY and AUTHENTICATION message templates are not impacted by this change.
