Importing problems?

Hi!
What would be the easiest way to export/import data between two applications?
I have one application which has a basic data entry interface (name, address, phone number, comment) and need to import data in a more complex application.
I tried to do it via excel export (fields have same names but different order) and getting error messages all the time.
Any suggestions?
