Functions IDE in Zoho CRM

Hello everyone! We hope you are doing great!

We're excited to enhance your coding experience with a new IDE for Functions!

This IDE is more powerful and is equipped with developer-friendly features such as executing the function without affecting the deployed places, revisions, review, multiple themes, etc.

What's new in the editor?

An all-new IDE with:
  1. Test Run
  2. Review
  3. Revisions
  4. Settings

1. Test Run

In the existing editor, whenever you want to execute a function, the Save and Execute button saves the code and executes it. This, in turn, also saves the function at all the associated places.

With the new Run feature in the new editor, you can simply execute the function to test it on the fly. This does not change the function at the deployed places as run simply executes but doesn't save the code, as opposed to the Save and Execute button in the old editor.


2. Review

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to see the changes you made to your code?
Fret not! We've got you covered!
The Review component on the left pane acts as a diff-editor and highlights the changes you have made recently.


3. Revisions

Ever wanted to return to the logic you wrote previously? The Revisions component lets you do just that!
With this new component, you can
  • Track the last 30 versions of your function.
  • Track the history of the changes in code along with the changelog and the user who modified the code.
  • Make use of any archived revision of the script by clicking the 'Use this revision' option at the top-right.

4. Settings

What's an IDE without a touch of personalization, right? We hear you!
Customize your Functions IDE to suit your taste. Right from Dark mode, customizing font, word spacing, to syntax assist, we have it all!
