inventory

I created an perpetual inventory for my drugs in my pharmacy.....for every drug , quantity on hand is equal to qty ordered minues qty dispensed. The problem is when i go back to enter another transaction for the same dru...I can't see the quantity on hand.....how do i get the quantity on hand to carry over.
