Make it easier to create a new topic?

Hi, could we have a 'create new topic' link on the forum page, and when we click it, we can see the "post a new topic" page with a dropdown to choose a sub-section (e.g. feedback, feature requests, bugs)?

Right now it seems like we have to find an existing post in the sub-section we want, and then click on it to get the 'create new topic' link. It's pretty counterintuitive and makes it unnecessarily hard for new users to post. Or maybe I'm missing something?
