Modifying a field content without editing it.

Would someone give an idea of a script to modify the content of a field without editing it.

For instance, what I'm trying to do, it's that the company's employees apply for an internal job position on a separate form, and then take the data from the job # field and place it on another database without giving the employee the access to zoho.

I'm new on Zoho and Deluge.
