Need a way to confirm

The yellow confirmation message that flashes by on the screen when a new record is created, goes by so fast that no one sees it. I need a way to help people confirm that their data was submitted successfully. I can't find a solution. On Add--> On success won't accept an alert. On success email will only send to me. Is there a way that the user can be delivered to a web page on success, where I can tell them that their data has been entered? Any other ideas?
