Pass HTML view's parameter to the form embedded inside


Hi,
I have a form embedded inside a HTML view

HTML view -- http:// appName/HTMLviewname/Parameter=<parameterVal>

When the form inside this html view loads,
I want to pass the parameter from the URL to the form-field

Is this possible ?

I am planning to use the HTML view with pre-determined parameter values ( think of.. something like affiliation code)

So everytime, the form loads in the htmlview, i want to make sure, where it came from.

Please advice,
