Repopulate form field (dropdown) after adding an entry

Hi Everyone,
After searching the forums without any luck, I have another hopefully simple question.

Is it possible to have a particular form field (specifically a dropdown) repopulated with the same selection after successfully adding a data entry. I'm trying to speed up entry when one teacher is adding multiple student reports.

So the scenario is: a teacher selects his/her name from a drop down and then continues to fill out the rest of the form, clicks submit, gets the "success" message and then the "Teacher" dropdown is set back to their original selection (their name) instead of the default "-- Select".
