Schedule - update a field after an automatic email has been sent

Hi, 

I cant figure out how to update a field following an automatic email using the schedule feature.

I have a report called sent quotes which automatically sends a quote follow up. 

In the report I have a field called "status".

I would like the status field to update to "Quote Follow Up Sent". After the automatic email using the scheduler has been sent.

Any ideas?
