Security Update: Zoho Docs is phasing out TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support

We'd like to draw your attention to an important security update that will take effect on August 31, 2018. As part of our continuous efforts to keep Zoho services secure and reliable, and to meet updated PCI standards, we're phasing out the early TLS protocols—1.0 and 1.1.

What's TLS?
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic technology protocol used to provide secure transfer of sensitive information over the internet.

Why is this necessary?
According to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), early TLS protocols no longer meet the minimum security standards. Due to unfixable security vulnerabilities, it's crucial that organizations upgrade to a more secure alternative and disable falling back to both the SSL and earlier TLS versions.

As a user, what should I do?
To continue using the desktop app, please follow these steps:
1. Download the latest version of Zoho Docs for desktop (v1.9.9 or higher) from https://www.zoho.com/docs/desktop-sync.html.
2. Quit the existing app.
3. Install the newly downloaded desktop sync app over the existing version.

Note: Starting September 1, 2018, the desktop sync app will no longer work on the following operating systems:

Windows: OS versions below Windows 7
Mac: OS versions below Mac 10.9
Linux: OS versions below Ubuntu 14.04

    • Introducing True Syncing of Read-only Folders - Zoho Docs Sync

Some files are to be read, others to be edited, and some few to be scrutinized and reviewed. The permissions you grant while you share a file decide the level of activity a user can do on your file.  If you have a set of files to be shared with your team and you don't want the contents to be changed in any way, then you can share the files in a read-only folder. But what happens when read-only folders are synced to desktops?                                                 Read-only folders synced
