Thanks for your reply and help with scripting. I have tried out the script you suggested but I think I may be missing a step that will help it to count the number of times each choice in the drop down menu is selected. Here is a link to the form that I am trying to script:

So for one field, I hope to set up a script that will count the number of times in the database that one option from a drop down menu has been chosen and give the alert if this is over a certain amount. I can't see any place in the script that you gave me as an example where it refers to the name of the individual workshop options within the same drop down menu field (ie option 1, option 2 etc in my mock up).
Thanks again for all your help. You can see that I have little to no experience with this type of scripting Smile If this isn't actually possible with drop down menus, is there a better way that I could do it?
