Sort a link column based on the shown record

I have a column that is a link to a pop up window with more information specific to that record. The column is called Common Name. Because each entry within the column is a link, when you want to sort the data based on that column, it does not sort correctly based on what the user can see.

Is there any way I can have zoho sort the column based on what the user can see rather than what is really in the record? Or is there a better way of implementing something like this?
