Status Field

I have a status field in a form thats hidden to users, but can be seen in the view to this form (only seen. it can not be edited)

My dilema is, i need some users to have access to the status field in the form. how can i go about that?

(i.e. i have one field in the form that needs to be hidden to some users but not to other users. and i need it to be the same form beacuse i need some users to edit the status of the submitted form) any ideas?
