tab display

I have added a number of tabs in my application (10 so far) and this has caused the tab bar to exceed the width of my browser window (so now there is a horizontal scroll bar appearing). I wonder if it might be a worthwhile idea to allow a different layout of tabs, perhaps with multiple tab bars or possibly 'sub-tabs' (like sub-menus) so as to make the application interface more compact?
