Tips and Tricks #06: Animate text at the paragraph level on Zoho Show.

Hi guys!

We're back with another Show tip! Before we jump into it, let's read through a quick scenario first.

Say you have a slide with a list of bullets and paragraph levels to present to your audience. The second it's on the screen, your audience starts scribbling down all of those bullet points instead of listening to what you're saying. So how do you avoid this and focus your audiences' attention on each point individually?

Simple— animate text at the paragraph level.

Animating paragraphs By Levels on Zoho Show, sets up the text to appear line by line, one after the other, on the screen, letting you discuss each point separately and clearly as you display them. It gives your audience time to take in each statement, ask questions, and take notes while still paying attention to the presentation.

For example, if you have paragraphs or bullet lists with 1-5 nested levels, you can set the text animation by 2nd Level and see the 1st and 2nd level will be animated in sequence. The rest of the bullets (3rd, 4th, and 5th levels) will appear all at once. This method of animating paragraphs can be useful for things like explaining a hierarchical classification of the operations in an organization, or the taxonomy of living organisms in a biology project.

Follow these steps below to implement this little trick in your own presentations:
  1. Select the placeholder containing the paragraph level text.
  2. Click ANIMATE mode on the right pane and apply an animation effect (Entrance, Emphasis, or Exit) you like.
  3. Now, click the Animate dropdown to select One Paragraph at a time and then the paragraph level until which you want to animate your text.
  4. Adjust the duration, direction, and other customization options from the Animation Order pane.
  5. Finally, click Preview or Play at the top-right corner to see the effect in action.
