I'm sure this will be easy to solve for you pro's out there, but this layman is cornered.  Seems simple enough, but I've tried to script this a couple of different ways and am burning the hours without getting any success.

We have a 'send email' function that works just fine.  All I want is to do is add into the function a second step of updating a field to indicate the email was sent.  (change 'Email Sent' from Pending to Sent).

I've searched the forums and wiki's with no success.

Anyone?
