Updating a URL field thru scripting

Hi,

When I drag a URL field type onto my form design then want to set its value during an 'on validate' event with script by refering to another url type field on another form, my field always ends up empty. If I change the field type to just a single line, then try to set it's value by referring to a URL field on the other form I get the whole hyperlink shown to me in text ie <a href="......."etc..... a> which is not what I want.

How do I use script to set a URL type field with the value of another URL type field?

Any help much appreciated.
