Updating Records

Hello zoho creator people

I'm trying to develop an application in zoho creator but I'm running into problems that seem to have no solution.
First I've a database that I've uploaded into zoho creator which was not easy because of the date format
(I've tried three times before all dates came in, in good order). Now let's call this Form(table) Basicform.
I'm using this db to pull data from the Basicform into other forms.
Say I'm using a unique number to get to the name and other fields from that record say email adress etc..

The user is don't have to fill in all those details they are available in the Basicform.
When everything is filled in let's say in formA. the user can go on with other forms or views.
but I also like to check if the emailadress in formA is still the same as in Basicform and if not do something about it.

It all boils down to the question, can I update a field in Basicform while still in formA? or for that matter in another form?

Second the database is maintained outside of zohocreator. How can I replace the complete data without destoying the application?
