Using lookup picklists

Firstly, I love Zoho Creator so far, thanks for making such a great product!

I'm having trouble using a picklist in a form that is dynamically populated by data in another form (upon form load). I can populate the picklist, and the user can select the right item, but the problem comes later when maintaining and viewing the data.

If I try to edit that row in a list or spreadsheet view, the options presented are the default Option A, Option B, Option C - it won't allow you to input other options.

There is also a problem when trying to filter a view based on that field. You don't get presented the proper fields because the picklist was generated dynamically at the time of the original form load.

Any advice on accomplishing this functionality in a better way?

Also, a related question - in a view, is there any way to filter on fields that are NOT picklist fields?
