View - Not able to be edited. Get error "[ServletException in:/jsp/edit/view/viewedit.jsp] null'"

I have a view that can be viewed, but cannot be edited. I get an error "[ServletException in:/jsp/edit/view/viewedit.jsp] null'". I was attempting to create a custom criteria on a view to limit records to "This week" and another one for "last week". On saving the script I noted that it replaced a criteria formula with null. The original view is still accessible and usable, but I cannot edit the view. It always give this error message. Tried a few different back doors to edit the view criteria to see if I could remove all custom criteria for this view, but no go. Please help
