view problem!

I can't seem to retrieve all the data entered from the form from the view page. Only those fields marked as visible or "display" show up. When I go to the page to edit the view page, I can check the boxes for the other fields to show up, but when I click "done" an "error" message pops up - over and over again. This is very distressing. How do I retrieve the data stored but not available on the view page????
