Ways to speed up application?

Ways to speed up application?

Most of my forms, especially those that are larger or include a lot of conditional actions, take a very long time to load or change (e.g. my browser, firefox, asks whether it should continue the script several times).

Are there particular script choices I can make which would speed things up? For instance, I have a number of fields which can be shown/hidden - would disabling them while they are hidden help/hurt?

I really like the Creator options & flexibility, but may need to find another application if I can't get things moving faster.
