Zoho Campaigns - Feature Request - Re-Send Existing Email Action in Automations/Journeys

Hi Zoho Campaigns and Zoho Marketing Automation teams,

I would like to suggest a feature that would make building and managing complex automations significantly easier.

The Feature
Introduce a “Re-Send” or “Send Existing Email” action within Automations and Journeys. This would allow users to select an email that already exists within the same automation or journey, reuse it without recreating the content, and still track separate performance metrics for each send.

The Problem
When building behaviour-based automations, it is necessary to send an email, then wait before evaluating what the recipient did. In Zoho Campaigns, this is done using a Wait action so that the recipient has time to open or click before the system checks their behaviour.

After this wait period, users are typically split into paths such as:

  • Clicked
  • Opened but did not click
  • Did not open

Each path then continues with further emails and repeated checks.

At the moment, there are two options, both of which are problematic:

  1. Recreate the same email multiple times throughout the journey
  2. Create a large number of connections linking back to earlier emails

Both approaches become very difficult to manage as the automation grows.

Real Use Case
For example, consider an event campaign:

  • Start with 1 email
  • After a Wait action, split into 3 paths based on behaviour
  • Each path sends another email, then waits again, then splits again

If this is repeated across 4 layers:

  • Layer 0: 1 email
  • Layer 1: 3 emails
  • Layer 2: 9 emails
  • Layer 3: 27 emails
  • Layer 4: 81 emails

In theory, this should only require 12 distinct emails plus the starting email, as the same messages are reused across paths.

However, in practice, this results in either:

  • Up to 121 separate email instances being created
    or
  • A very cluttered canvas with connections going back and forth across the journey

This makes the automation hard to read, difficult to troubleshoot, and not scalable.

Suggested Solution
Introduce a “Send Existing Email” action that:

  • Allows selection of any email already used in the automation or journey
  • Works in combination with a Wait action so behaviour can be evaluated after a defined delay
  • Sends the same email content but tracks metrics independently

Additionally, the way connections are handled could follow the model of “Common Transition” from Zoho CRM Blueprints.

In CRM Blueprints, a Common Transition allows multiple transitions to link to the same destination without cluttering the canvas. The connecting lines are hidden and only appear when hovering over the related transition or the common transition itself.

Applying a similar concept here would:

  • Keep the automation visually clean
  • Avoid messy connection lines across the canvas
  • Make complex journeys much easier to understand and maintain

Why This Matters
Modern automations rely on repeated behaviour checks and structured follow-ups. Without the ability to reuse emails cleanly and combine this with Wait actions, even well-designed campaigns become unnecessarily complex.

This feature would:

  • Reduce duplication
  • Simplify automation design
  • Improve readability and maintenance
  • Enable more advanced, behaviour-driven campaigns

Summary
A “Re-Send Existing Email” action, combined with Wait actions and a Common Transition-style connection model, would allow users to build complex automations in a clean, scalable, and manageable way.

This would be a high-impact improvement for anyone running structured marketing campaigns.
