This March, we're thrilled to unveil new updates that bring ease and precision to your day to day payroll operations. As Zoho Payroll evolves to adapt to your business needs, let's take a look at the updates we've released over the past months.

Solidifying our commitment to smoothen payroll processes for businesses in the GCC countries, we've now launched an exclusive app for Saudi Arabia. Businesses in Saudi Arabia will now be able to pay their employees without having to worry about laws and compliance. Learn More

Advanced Analytical Tools for your Reports (India)

If you'd like to drill-down further in your reports in Zoho Payroll using advanced tools or better visualise the data in your reports, you can now integrate with Zoho Analytics. Once you integrate with Zoho Analytics, you can access the Advanced Analytics tab in the Reports section in Zoho Payroll.

By using these advanced tools offered by Zoho Analytics, you will be able to create custom dashboards that enable you to fetch advanced tools and visualise data tailored to meet your organisation's special requirements - all within Zoho Payroll. You can update these custom dashboards whenever needed.

To access Advanced Analytics, navigate to Reports > Advanced Analytics.

Superannuation Benefits (India)

Superannuation Benefit is a retirement fund for employees contributed by the employers. Now, you can now choose to contribute to this fund in Zoho Payroll for the welfare of your employees.  These contributions towards Superannuation will be considered as Benefits in Zoho Payroll. Once you associate these benefits to employees, the contributions towards the superannuation fund will be included as added benefits to employees every month.

Here's how you set up Superannuation Benefits:
  • Go to Settings and navigate to Salary Components.
  • Click the Add Component option in the top right corner and select Benefit.
  • Select a Benefit Plan and choose to consider it a Superannuation fund.

Zoho Payroll x WhatsApp for Business (Early Access)

You can now send all the important payroll notifications as a message to your employees on WhatsApp. This comes as a handy reminder tool if the employees have missed to view critical payroll-related information sent via email. You can even customise the default templates to meet your organization branding guidelines, if required.

To integrate with WhatsApp for Business, navigate to Settings > Other Apps > Click Connect in the WhatsApp section.

Other Enhancements

1) Transport Allowance for the differently abled (India): For the differently abled people in India, a tax exemption up to Rs.3200 is provided for their travel. You will be able to provide this tax exemption to employees if they meet the below criteria:
  • While creating or editing the personal information of employees, you've marked them as differently abled.
  • The transport allowance is a part of the employees' salary structure.

2) Decide when the professional tax is effective for employees: Going forward, you can choose when the revised professional tax comes into effect. To set an effective date, navigate to Settings > Statutory Components > click Change in the revised professional tax slab.

3) Download or Export Associated Employee Deductions: You can now download the deductions associated with the employees to your device. To export employee deductions, click Employees > More icon (top right corner) > Export Data > Select Employee Deduction Details.

4) Manage Journals for Loans (Early Access): You can now choose to post and delete journal entries for the loans disbursed to your employees.

5) Show Benefits Contribution Summary in Payslip: You can now choose to display a breakdown of all the benefits associated with your employees in the payslips you send to your employees. To show the benefit contribution summary in a payslip, go to Settings > Templates > select a payslip template and enable the Show Benefit Summary option.

6) New User Invite Flow: If you are invited to join a new organization in Zoho Payroll that you are not a part of, you can now view your invite in the My Profile section or Manage Organization section in Zoho Payroll.

7) Leave Organization: If you would like to permanently leave an organization you're a part of, you can now choose to leave the organization by navigating to the Manage Organization page. To leave the organization, click the More icon in the manage organization page and click Leave Organization.
