Zoho Project: New vs Old
Dear Zoho Team, I've been using zoho projects since August 2012 and has been promoting it among the multiple teams I work with as well as partners and friends. It use to be very simple, quick and fast. After you have upgraded, I tried to be pacient and get used to the new version, however, now I'm thinking seriously of looking for a new tool provider. Task List
I am sorry I am posting so many questions today but I am new to Zoho and trying to work out how to use it for a large project. I have fed into over 200 task lists and then I will be breaking down each task list into mini tasks to be done by around 29 people. As I produced all the task lists, I inadvertently made mistakes as I wasn't used to either Zoho or the writer of the document that I was copying. Now however, I would like to ensure that the task lists are kept in numbered order, is that possible?

Comments on a Task List
I have inadvertently made some comments on a number of task lists that i have now found out were a problem with what I was reading and I need to take the comments out. I have only been able to delete the whole task list and write it again without the comment. Is there an easier way to take comments out of a task list please in the feeds.
Do DELUGE scripts run in Zoho Projects
Working in Projects, we're wanting to have an automatic scheduling rule for start and due dates of specific tasks, based upon the due date of our "master" task. Is there a way to create this rule with CREATOR? Thanks, Davey

Archiving a Forum Topic
Is there anyway to archive a forum topic? I have a topic for each of the benchmarks on my project. We just completed one and I do not want people to post to that forum any longer. I don't want to delete it because I want to keep the record, but I want it to disappear so that it can no longer be accessed by the employees on the project. Is there a way to do this?
Inline editing for tasks
In the new 4.0 version of projects it doesn't seem that you can schedule "in-line" when you are in the tasks view. You have to open the properties window for each and every task/sub-task to add a date. The older version allowed for editing dates, assignments, etc. in both views. This change is cumbersome and increases the time that it takes to create a schedule. Can this feature be added to the new 4.0 version as well?
Gmail App Not Available Projects
Hey, I've been waiting a couple of years for this problem to be solved in the Gmail gadget. Every time I want to add a task to a project, the project is not in the list! What gives guys? This makes the gadget useless. Any idea on when you might actually fix this?

Source of task status reporting?
All of creating tasks and task list, assigning them to employees, and share necessary documents under the related projects, tracking tasks are great. But one thing is unclear for me. How and who will report the status of the tasks or progress of the job?" Will the progress/status of tasks measured by time spent by employee or by percentage entered by employee? Based on what input/whose input we measure or judge the progress of the tasks? How are the recorded time and time frame set for the task related?

Hello ZProject team Is task completion status measured by number of hours spent on the task or by percentage which is inserted by the user/employee? Hi! From your help it seems that i should be able to do this. Looks like it was available in an older version of project. I can find the interface in the current version, however cannot see the options for "remove" or "trash". see attachments.. I created the page, and uploaded the file and I have admin rights. Intergrated Purchase orders?
is there any way you can create and track purchase orders from within Zoho Projects?? i need to create PO's for subcontractors throughout a constructon project - i realise that CRM has this - would i have to make every subcontractor a vendor and create the PO in CRM? is there any way you could keep a running total of PO's for cost control purposes?
Task subtasks
Hello there, So far enjoying the API and everything seems to be working quite well! My only issue so far is Sub-tasks. I cant seem to be able to identify the hierarchy of tasks, is there a way to do that? My other idea was to somehow store data in Task's comment section, however that information doesnt show up in task's info as well. Any help is appreciated.

Ability to capture the embedded images for the bug comments
We need to be able to capture embedded images for bug comments sent via email. Users cannot give full feedback on bugs without this functionality.
Completed/Closed Bugs still showing as available when entering time
Why are completed/closed bugs still available on the listing that is used on the timesheets? These items need to drop off and only reappear if they are reopened.
How to set dependencies?
When I go into the dependency view and try and enter the task number of the predecessor it will not save in the task. Do I need to set something up to do that? Thanks! John
what is the difference between duration 1 days and 0 days?
I'm not sure I understand what the difference is between 0 and 1 days duration. When using dependencies, my expectation was that I could assign some tasks with a 0 day duration and they would/could be due on the same day. But when I tried that by assigning a dependency to a task with the same date, but a 0 day duration, I couldn't do it and got a conflict error message.
can I build a schedule with dependency feature?
The dependency feature is very handy if you need to revise a schedule that you have created - however you cannot build a schedule that way because you can't assign a dependency until you assign a date to a task. That seems a little bit backwards - it would be more efficient and user friendly if you could create a project, in particular a project template, where you could establish the 1) tasks, 2) duration of each task, 3) and the dependencies for each task without assigning a date. I am new to Zoho Projects and as the owner of my firm I like to see all the projects grouped by client - while I know I can do this I would like to be able to set this as my default view rather than having an extra click each time I view all the projects my firm has active. I suggest that a user pref r a cookie be used to allow me to save the view I want
former forum posts visible in new project
Hi, I use the free Zoho Projects. Been gone for a couple of months but logged in and created a new project. Now, forum posts from previous project continue to show up in forum page. How can I delete the posts from the old project? Thanks.
Scheduling Events in 4.0
Hello Zoho, I'm writing because I have started putting together my yearly meeting schedule in Project and now noticed that the 4.0 version has a very clunky member selection interface. With the 3.0 version, I can select all members with one click, or I can select 5 members with 5 clicks, just by checking the boxes beside their names. With the 4.0 version, I must select each member, one at a time, with another click in between to open the member dialogue. To select all members, it's AVERSIVE. Seriously.

where is the client user option?
The system has changed so much from when I first signed up (for the better). But one thing I cannot find anymore is the option to create a client user. It used to be in the options when adding any user. Now its not, and when I go to look at user rolls it shows it on the list, but prompts me to sign up for another account? I don't use the employee account, can I just change that user title to client and adjust the rolls?

Email to forum from unknown address
Hello, Is there any way of using email-to-forum to receive emails from unknown addresses? I am trying to collect notification emails from online services (Bitbucket in this first case) under a forum post, but it seems that only users with access to the project can send email to Zoho. I don't want to add the online services' email addresses to the project because then I have no way to prevent that account from accessing the whole project's data. Thanks for any suggestions!
Batch assign tasks
It would be great if you could batch assign a member to every task instead of having to set each one. Having that option in the task templates to batch assign would be very helpful.

Filter on milestones
Hi, When I'm in the "Classic View" of Project X and drop down the Milestones filter, it shows ALL milestones, not just the milestones for Project X. If a milestone from Project A is selected there is nothing to show. It doesn't quite make sense to me to include milestones from other than the active project in the milestones filter dropdown. Is there way to fix the FEED settings?
Hi guys, Is there a way to fix the settings in FEED to be activity settings. Because FEED view is very hard to follow as it doesn't let you sort of the FORUM or TASK notes unless you go into it.
