I just moved to ZOHO and I like it but now I am facing problems that may make us leave ZOHO, I already emailed the support team and they replied but no dates were given so I wanted to list those missing features in order to get votes by users and hopefully get ZOHO team to give us an approximate date of when these features will be added:
1- USER PERMISSION: the roles in ZOHO books are primitive; I want my sales staff to only access the sales module, not the purchasing, or banking or any accounting features such as customer payables "purchase payables". The sales staff should not access the purchase rate of an item
and should not be allowed to change the rate of an item when issuing an invoice. ALSO, No one should be allowed to change the Terms and Conditions in the invoice or purchase order apart from the admin.
Also As a bonus feature, admin should set a maximum discount on invoices in % in order to avoid typos by sales and admin while creating an invoice
2- MULTI WAREHOUSE: as a retailer, we store most of our items in a central warehouse and then we transfer them to other stores when needed. I should be able to control this movement and manage where the items are.
3- IF THE AVAILABLE QUANTITY OF AN ITEM IS LESS THAN THE QUANTITY IN THE INVOICE, IT SHOULD WARN ME BEFORE ISSUING THE INVOICE: there is no point of making an invoice for an item that I do not have enough quantity (enough stock) for.
Also, another suggestion which can be helpful, in fact it can be an extension to the features above:
When a user issues an invoice, he should use the stock of one warehouse only, so if more quantity needed for an item, the admin should make the transfer from the central warehouse, for example, to the other location. This is to enhance the ability of multi warehouse and ensure that items are fully managed and their quantity is under control. This advance feature is available in Tradegecko inventory cloud-based system and it must be available in ZOHO books as ZOHO is seriously much better to use.
After the addition of Inventory management, ZOHO BOOKS is not an accounting only solution anymore, it is a fully integrated solution for businesses and it should meet the expectation of its users. I hope the support team is able to give us a time frame of when those 3 main features will be available, and to tell us if the additional suggestion can be fulfilled?
