A general feedback

A general feedback

I have discovered Zoho quite a long time ago, and every now and then I come to have a look at how the development is going, and every time I think: "oh", and soon after: "uhm".

I mean, I am indeed amazed every time by the new features, by the bug fixing, and so on. Today for example, I went back to Zoho to have a look at the realtime collaboration on a document, which last times I checked was pretty slow and not comparable with the way Google Docs does the same thing.

So I was nicely surprised to see today that instead Zoho seemed to be much faster now than Google with the realtime updates/collaboration, and to generally work better than Google.

Many other things have improved all the time, you guys are no doubt developing one of the richest and most amazing suites of web applications out there, and you can be sure your users appreciate a lot your costant presence in these forums, and your always ready availability to fix bugs or add features they ask.

But as part of this "general feedback", I would also like to tell you what IMHO makes Zoho something beautiful to see, but something at the same time that I can't feel yet I could rely on for my business.

Being a developer myself (in the different market of online advertising), I have no doubt of how skilled your engineers are, but every single time I have the feeling that something is out of place or not consistent, and that as soon as I do real life testing there is always something which does not work properly and prevents me from actually using these applications.

I think guys, to cut it short, that while Google should take the example from you about how rich your applications are and how many applications you have already rolled out, you should instead learn from them to do some more proper testing before publishing live new features and updates.
I have always the feeling that you publish features and updates too quickly which is great, but then we see lots of posts in the forums regarding bugs of any time, sometimes really funny ones.
No doubt Google apps have many less features than your applications, and indeed you offer many more solutions than them; also, they update their apps less frequently with a little number of updates per time.
But the great thing is that every time I use their applications they just work!
However poorer their applications might look compared to yours, they work in a much more stable and consistent way, in my humble opinion, and using them actively every day, I never have anything to complain (apart from obvious things such as the compatibility with Office documents, which will always affect any web app), again: they just work! Every time I try Zoho (at least once in a month), I love the way it looks and acts, but give me 5 minutes and I can already find one bug or two as soon as I try doing something other than a quick look around.
This is mainly the reason every now and then I come back to do some testing, and then leave every time without being convinced to switch to Zoho as a solution.

I hope you will appreciate my feedback, and understand what I am trying to suggest you.
I will come back every now and then as always, hoping to find next time applications as beautiful as they already are, that I can also actually use for work.

BTW a big thank you and keep up the great work!
