Ability to filter contacts and account by open issues

Hi, is there any way sort/filter tickets within account and contacts so that closed issues are not shown?

At present:

Contacts: click contacts in top menu bar and select a contact, all tickets are shown.

Accounts: click accounts in top menu bar and select an account, all tickets are shown.

I would like to be able to click contacts/accounts, select a contact/account and be able to only see open tickets.
