Ability to Set Text Direction for Individual Cells in Zoho Sheet
Dear Zoho Sheet Team,
We hope you are doing well. We would like to request an enhancement in Zoho Sheet that allows users to set the text direction (right-to-left or left-to-right) for individual cells, similar to what is available in Google Sheets.
Use Case:
Currently, Zoho Sheet provides options to set the overall sheet direction (right-to-left or left-to-right) and text alignment (left, center, right). However, there is no way to control the text direction at the cell level, which is crucial for handling bidirectional text, especially in languages like Hebrew and Arabic.
In Google Sheets, users can change the text direction of a specific cell using dedicated buttons, which correctly position punctuation marks, such as question marks and exclamation points, according to the writing system. This ensures proper text formatting.
Requested Feature:
We request the addition of a "Cell Text Direction" setting that:
Allows users to toggle individual cell text direction between left-to-right (LTR) and right-to-left (RTL).
Ensures that punctuation and mixed-language content (e.g., Hebrew text with English words) are formatted correctly within the cell.
Functions independently of the overall sheet direction setting.
Benefits:
Improved readability for RTL users without affecting the entire sheet layout.
Better compatibility with documents containing both LTR and RTL text.
Enhanced user experience for those working with multiple languages.
We believe this feature would be a valuable addition to Zoho Sheet and greatly enhance its usability for multilingual users.
