Access subform fields from a lookup field in template records

Access subform fields from a lookup field in template records

I'm working on a record template for a form where i have a look up field which allows access to a subform in another form, now i want to list that subform fields in a table, but i'm not able to find anyway to access any of the subform fields, and when i view the record template for any record, i get just the IDs of the subform rows which is not what i want. could you please guide me as to how i can access the fields of the subform?
