Accessing Document folders

Accessing Document folders

When adding sub-folder to MY Folder, they show in the Folder List on the left and in the Documents Desktop. If you click on them in the Document Desktop, it says the folder is empty. If you select from the Folder list on the left it shows all of the documents.

Any ideas as to what is causing this?
