Accounting on the Go Series-18: Seamless Workflow-Automate Retainer Invoice creation in Zoho Books

Hello Zoho Books Users!

In our pursuit of making your financial processes more streamlined, let’s explore a feature that adds a touch of automation to your invoicing experience.

Picture this: You're a business owner consistently sending out quotations to multiple potential customers, and your team is eager to jump into action. How about securing advance payments proactively?

Here’s how it works: Once your customer accepts your quotes, Zoho Books swings into action. It promptly generates and creates a retainer invoice in draft status for the predetermined amount, based on the percentage you've set in the estimate. Your team can quickly have them sent then. The beauty of it? You can swiftly kickstart your work on the orders, armed with the security of advance payments.

Key Benefits:
Streamlined Workflows: No more waiting for manual responses or initiating payment requests. Zoho Books ensures that the retainer invoice is created as soon as your customer accepts the quote.
Boosted Efficiency: With the advance payment secured, you can confidently dive into your orders.

How it works in Zoho Books iOS app:
Open the Zoho Books iOS app.
 Navigate to More >> Quotes.
Create a new quote and enter the details.
Scroll down and enable the option “Create a retainer invoice for this quote automatically.”
Enter the percentage to be collected and send out the quote.
When the customer accepts the quote from the customer portal or you manually mark the quote as sent, a retainer invoice will be automatically created with the defined percentage amount in draft status.
Quickly send the retainer invoice, and the customer can make a payment against it.
The retainer payment will be stored as unused credit for the customer, applicable to future invoices.
