"Accounts" under settings shows a defunct account

Steps to repeat problem:

1 sign into my zoho account
2 go to URL mail.zoho.com
3 I see my email in my inbox - I would like to keep these messages, not have them deleted.
3 click on "settings" link in the upper right corner
4 click on "Mail Accounts" in the middle column (toward the left)
5 "Email ID" shows an old email address I no longer wish to use this address with Zoho. The domain is at GoDaddy.  I've changed GoDaddy settings such as the password, and I've deleted the POP account and recreated it as an imap account (actually, I don't recall how I changed it into an imap account, but I have)

How can I change this account so I keep my messages but break the connection between it and my godaddy account and domain?
