Accounts vs Potentials

Accounts vs Potentials

I am brand new to Zoho and I'm not quite understanding the difference between an Account and a Potential.
 
It starts out as a lead, you convert it to an account once they become a customer, it adds the individual as a contact.....but what exactly then is a Potential?
 
The name "potential" makes me think it's a qualified lead, but I don't think that's what they mean.
